Living is the story of an ordinary man (Bill Nighy, in an Oscar-nominated performance), reduced by years of oppressive office routine to a shadow existence, who at the eleventh hour makes a supreme effort to turn his dull life into something wonderful. Based on the 1952 Akira Kurosawa film Ikiru, Living has been exquisitely adapted by the Nobel Prize-winning novelist Kazuo Ishiguro.
