US Copyright Law protects creative property for a almost full century, but on January 1, 2024 films from the year 1928 moved into the public domain. CCA celebrates these important pieces of cinematic history all day on Monday June 17th with our first ever Public Domain Day!

SEX IN CHAINS synopsis:

A young man is convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to a term in prison in this gay-themed film of the German Silent Era. Incarcerated, our protagonist forms a close relationship with his cellmate (future movie director Wilhelm aka William Dieterle) and upon his release his wife is concerned as to how prison has changed the man she married.
