Position Summary

The Center for Contemporary Arts, Santa Fe seeks a highly motivated and creative candidate to serve as Development Officer. The Development Officer works directly with the Executive Director to implement and coordinate inspired strategies and plans to sustain and expand the donor base, fundraising revenues, as well as the expansion of a robust donor circle program for the Center for Contemporary Arts. Responsibilities include identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and new donors and members. Additionally, the Development Officer will help coordinate special appeals, donor communications, grant research and proposals, membership, as well as work on all events for CCA. Full-time 40 hours per week, Exempt, Salary Dependent on Experience

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

The CCA Development Officer will help to create and implement overall development plan for the organization. Oversee individual giving campaigns, including annual giving and special appeals, and identify new methods and strategies to increase revenues and donor participation. Assist with grant writing activities to include research, application submission and completion of follow up reports. Coordinate efforts with the with Executive Director to develop an effective donor communication strategy for both current and prospective donors, clients, and other key constituents. Provide leadership for the organization in business and personal solicitations and help to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects for CCA. Maintain and expand development and nonprofit networks for the purpose of education, idea and revenue generation, and relationships.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Ability to implement and coordinate strategies and plans to sustain and expand the donor base and fundraising revenues for CCA.
  • Ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and new donors.
  • Coordinate special appeals, donor communications, grant research and proposals, as well as work on all membership and donor events.
  • Help to create and implement overall development plan for the organization.

  • Assist with corporate sponsor solicitation efforts and ensure corporate sponsor benefit fulfillment.
  • Ensure proper acknowledgment of all donors and corporate sponsors.
  • Assist with grant writing activities to include research, application submission and completion of follow up reports.
  • Coordinate efforts with the with Executive Director to develop an effective donor communication strategy for both current and prospective donors, clients, and other key constituents.
  • Provide leadership for the organization in business and personal solicitations and help to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects for CCA.

  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Willingness to work evening events and weekend days
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Willingness to abide by all CCA health and safety covid-related protocols and standards

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Studio Arts, Arts Administration or related discipline or equivalent practical life experience
  • At least 2 years relative development experience
  • Experience with donor database systems (DonorPerfect preferred)
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors
  • Previous gallery, museum, cultural space and/or arts experience preferred
  • Business casual dress

Technical Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Photoshop, and Mac and Windows products.
  • Familiarity and capacity with a variety of tools and materials
  • Salary dependent on experience.
