Writer-director Ethan Hawke joins CCA’s Jason Silverman and online guests to discuss Blaze, where Hawke reimagines the life and times of Blaze Foley, the unsung songwriting legend of the Texas Outlaw Music movement. The film weaves together three different periods of time, exploring his love affair with Sybil Rosen; his last, dark night on earth; and the impact of his songs and his death had on his fans and friends (including Townes van Zandt) and disciples.

About the speaker: Ethan Hawke is an American actor, writer, and director. He has been nominated for four Academy Awards and a Tony Award. Hawke has directed three feature films, three Off-Broadway plays, and a documentary. He has also written three novels and one graphic novel
