In early 2025, CCA asked our patrons and donors to give us some feedback in an extensive survey. We have learned a lot about what our community is looking for. You have already seen some of the changes in action and we have even more plans for the future.

Here are some survey highlights:

  • Among the 200 respondents 98% had come to a film screening in the last year, with 30% attending CCA for Chatter, 15% attending Tia Collection, and 50% some other kind of event.
  • 50% rated our Cinema programming with a 5 out of 5 out of a possible 5, with another 40% rating it 4 out of 5.
  • 50% of our patrons visit us over 10 times a year (with many coming over 50 times annually).

Some of the comments we received:

  • CCA is the best and I don’t know what our film community would do without it. We’re happy to give to CCA each year to ensure that good films don’t disappear from Santa Fe.

  • Do not underestimate how important CCA is to Santa Fe! We’re a big, brawling family of film lovers, and we will always disagree about programming, etc. But beneath it all, many of us will support CCA because it is our life blood–there is simply no other place to see the kinds of films CCA shows. You make Santa Fe what it is.

  • Your film turnover is so quick that it’s often difficult for me to view the films in which I have interest. I would like to see, for example, all the foreign films that may be nominated for an Oscar!

    CCA note: We think you will notice that many of our films are playing longer than in the past. In fact, Jimmy in Saigon (currently a nation-wide exclusive) is currently in its 4th week and Secret Mall Apartment (which left us a few weeks ago) also ran for 4 weeks. Films are with us on average of 2 weeks over the past few months.
  • We’d like to see more programming with commentary/discussion by local “experts.”

    CCA note: Hopefully everyone has noticed an expansion of this commitment. In addition to the introductions made at our Closer Looks series, we also have had filmmakers in attendance and had experts introduce our screenings at our members-only event. Additionally, look for our new Indigenous and Black Cinema film series.
