artREACH @ CCA provides FREE access to CCA arts experience to those in New Mexico who live in limited circumstances – from economically disadvantaged, to physically and emotionally disabled, to socially challenged – those who could not otherwise participate in the enrichment of the arts. Bridging the region’s intense cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic diversity, artREACH welcomes all communities to CCA.
Free tickets for CCA’s Visual, Performing, Cinema, and Arts Education programs are available to New Mexico human and social service agencies, Santa Fe County Title I schools, and Northern New Mexico Pueblos.

Featured artREACH partnership:
CASA
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA - First Judicial District) and artREACH partner in an effort to enrich and expand the lives of children in foster care. CASA’s advocates are trained community volunteers, appointed by a judge, to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in court. A CASA volunteer provides the Children’s Court judge with carefully researched background of the child to help the court make a sound decision about that child's future. These children are temporarily in the custody of the Children Youth & Families Department as foster children. The CASA volunteer must recommend if it is in a child's best interest to return to his or her parents or guardians, remain in foster care, be placed with other relatives, or be freed for permanent adoption. Last year CASA served just under 250 children.
Foster care children have little or no chance for a normal childhood. They endure frequent moves with little notice, educational disruption, separation from siblings, broken friendships, and stigmatization. More often than not, the children have been emotionally, physically, medically and educationally neglected, and therefore have a very narrow impression of the world and its possibilities. Through partnership with artREACH, CASA children have the opportunity to engage in art-oriented education and activities they would not access otherwise. CASA and artREACH hope the children will gain a more positive and empowering life outlook though their participation at CCA.
