July 15th through September 4th in the Spector Ripps Project Space.
Kaleidospoke seeks to instill the love of cycling through art and film by showcasing bicycle-inspired murals, film and spoke cards from national artists and filmmakers and the Annual Mellow Velo Bike Pageant at The Center for Contemporary Arts. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Santa Fe's local bicycle cooperative, Chainbreaker Collective. (www.chainbreaker.org) Founded in Santa Fe in 2010 by New Mexican native Vanessa Wilde, KALEIDOSPOKE was organized to instill appreciation and reinforce the love for cycling through art and film. As an artist, graphic designer and cyclist it was irresistible for Wilde to combine her three passions. Her enthusiasm has generated an event celebrating bicycle culture and the community spirit that it embraces.
About the Exhibition:
KALEIDOSPOKE is a two-month long bicycle art exhibition and film showcase featuring spoke cards received from an international call for entry, exclusive murals by national artists, and a bicycle film showcase, including stages of the 2011 Tour de France, open to the public through CCA's Cinematheque.
